He is also a law professor at the Pepperdine Caruso School of Law and the faculty director at its Palmer Center for Entrepreneurship. Dr. Nissel teaches
courses in property and international law.
Dr. Nissel earned his LL.D. in the origins of international litigation with an emphasis on arbitration from Helsinki University under Dr. Martti Koskenniemi. His scholarly research focuses on international property law and enforcement actions, with numerous publications in leading law journals.
Jonathan Braun is an attorney specializing in construction defect claims and oversees the forensic investigations unit at Finch & Hammer. Jonathan earned his Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School and is licensed to practice law in the State of California.
Jonathan has practiced at boutique law firms representing architects and buildings in construction defect claims. However, Jonathan has not only practiced law but developed a substantial amount of multifamily housing as well. Jonathan served as a Project Manager with Alchemy Properties in New York and more recently as Managing Director of Real Estate Development and Construction for Jamison Properties LP in Los Angeles. Jonathan brings to Finch & Hammer over a decade of ground-up construction and adaptive reuse multifamily developments--representing over $1 billion in total construction costs.
Jonathan has a proven track record of navigating complex entitlement processes, executing large-scale urban infill projects, and delivering high-quality housing in some of the most competitive real estate markets in the country. His expertise spans all phases of development, from site acquisition and design to permitting, financing, and especially construction management.
